WOMEN CAN BUILD and here in Solano County we see a much higher percentage of women in the field, so much so that we are 10.4% higher than the national average. With women earning as much or more than 81.1 cents to the dollar compared to men in construction, this industry is a great opportunity for Women Builders in Solano County!
Last year in Solano County there are over 10K related construction jobs, which is 54% higher than national average. This could be attributed to the unique local construction training resources afforded to Solano County residents. Located just around the corner from Jelly Belly in Fairfield is the Carpenters Training Committee for Northern California (CTCNC). The CTCNC is an educational organization that provides Apprentice, Journeylevel, and related training services for Union Carpenters & Contractors for 46 Counties across Northern California. Solano County residents are very fortunate to have this unique training resource in their community.
The CTCNC serves as the Northern California training affiliate for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America, and for more information about their training programs visit their website today.
